Pinar Kaprali Gorsev has over 20 years of experience in the software industry, both in the US and in Turkey. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Computer Science and Economics in 1988, she joined Borland International in CA as a software engineer in the R&D department. She worked as a software engineer at different offices and ventures of the company, as well as in management positions for over 7 years at Borland. She was a key player in setting up Borland’s European Research Center in Paris. Upon her return to the US, she served as the development coordinator and project manager to start a new spin-off company – joint venture of Borland with MCI – called Borland Interactive. She specializes in communications and information technologies.
After moving to Turkey in 1995, she formed her own company, Turk Nokta Net, one of the leading ISP’s and a major portal, with a partner. Turk Nokta Net was acquired by Sabanci Holding in 2000.
In 2002, she formed a new technology company, PhonoClick, focusing on IP and Voice technologies. Since then, PhonoClick has built up its own intellectual property base and has successfully made the transition to many commercial deployments. The company was winner of the Deloitte Technology Fast50 award in 2008. PhonoClick was a consortium partner in the EU FP6 project, successfully completed in May 2009. Today, PhonoClick operates fully automated mobile interaction platforms that include extensive global voice call processing, messaging and geo-location capabilities that can easily be integrated with other online systems with technology exported to 16 countries in Europe and the Middle East.
